Hello Peter,

Hi,
Whenever I call kpdf to view a pdf-document, it starts as a "small"
ribbon of approximately 240x1100 pixels on the top of the desktop. Of
course this window can be elongated via mouse actions. Tedious.
I altered the kpdf.desktop-file to execute "/opt/trinity/bin/kpdf
--geometry 950x1170 --caption "%c"" and now the window is expanded to
my liking.
But when Slavek releases an alteration to the kpdf package - quite
often the case - my .desktop gets overwritten and I get again the
ribbon. And must again correct the .desktop-file. Pita.
Is there a method to keep this file in "my" state and not overwrite
it blindely? The "i" flag is not a viable solution.
Rgds. Peter.
I have been seeing this since ever (sorry for not reporting the bug).
When the navigation area in kpdf is shown (it remembers this setting)
and you open a document, then kpdf opens in a window which is
vertically sparsely extended. It doesn't behave like this if you launch
kpdf without a document. Also, when the document doesn't have the
chapter or overview part, i.e. in a scanned document, kpdf does not
open in this shrinked way.
If the navigation area is not shown kpdf opens vertically maximally
extended like expected.
We probably should report a BUG.
HTH
Kind regards,
Stefan
