Hi,
Here is some new pictures to replace the KDE 3.5 stock images found in the KPersonalizer wizard. It would make a great first impression to new users for the upcoming R14 and it would make TDE look like it has progressed since the last 10 years. You will see that while they are new, they do have some inspiration from the old ones.
It is based on CrystalSVG, KFaenza and MoodinKDE. If you want, I can provide my GIMP files.
Any __constructive__ ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! -Alexandre

Alexandre,
Would you please open an enhancement request bug report and attach the png images? I will endorse the request and ensure the request is added to the final R14 check list, which is being discussed right now. All we really need do is replace the existing png files in the git tree with the new png files.
One comment: In the step 2 image, would you please replace the KDE icon with a MacOS icon? That would better match the dialog choices.
A question: In the step 5 image your dialog shows a button to start kcontrol. How did you do that?

Yes, these are to be placed in /opt/trinity/share/apps/kpersonalizer

On step 5, there is a button for launching TDE Control Center. Someone must have added this button a while ago, but it is not me.

Hi,
Thank you! Here is the new ''step 2'' with an OS X icon. I made it myself in GIMP, based on a KFaenza icon, because I wasn't too sure about using one from the internet.
The bug report number is: 2001
Thank you! -Alexandre

There is no need to worry about it. There is no link between KPersonalizer and the CrystalSVG icon theme.
Have you looked at the picture?
Thank you! -Alexandre
I hadn't. I just reacted to your comment about Crystal AVG. Sorry. :-(
I now have. I almost need sun-glasses!! But as my usual complaint is that things are not clearly visible, I can hardly complain about these. ;-) And above all: they are not transparent and they don't move or wobble. Thanks, Alexandre. :-))
Is that awful X really the MacOS icon? Poor things!

I have just had another and slower look. I really like much of it. The background, and the font for the "TDE" are really great. And on consideration I rather like the brashest one, with the different logos - the whole think is a harmonious whole, except for the Windows logo. :-) Now that is the subtlest and therefore most effective comment I have seen on Windows in a long time. ;-) They can't complain. It is a very pretty red.
I withdraw my somewhat grudging acceptance. You have done a great job. Just let me keep Plastik and CrystalSVG and I'll be happy!!

Thank you! The OS X icon is something a made, by patching an icon from the KFaenza icon set. It looks similar to the real OS X icon, but without have to pay copyright on it and it is free/libre.
