Kmail apostrophe weirdness

Lately I've been seeing this weird spacing effect with apostrophes in incoming emails. The encoding for the messages in question is "auto-detected" by Kmail as UTF-8, and in the message headers announce that they are UTF-8. Is this some artifact of the sending agent, or something that Kmail is doing? I attach an example. An extremely disappointing wallpaper...

Hi folks. I was reading the release notes for R14.1.5 before I started a system upgrade and noticed there was a new wallpaper added to tdeartwork. At first, I liked it, but then I took a closer look and was extremely disappointed. Do we not have any quality control for TDE artwork? I'm certainly not the only one who noticed how bad this looks. I have no issue with using AI for artwork, but this is embarassing. There was very clearly no attempt to polish or improve this at all. How did this make it in? Surely we can do better than this, no? Where can I get SuperKaramba widgets?

The downloader in the SuperKaramba app (under Desktop category in TDE menu) seems to not work anymore, returning an empty list.

kmail update trouble

Hi all, I had some spare time available so I decided to do a dist-upgrade (MX-Linux 23, TDE on psb). Now habve 14.1.6 ~development (and the latest MX 23, whatever it's called). Now, I can't start kmail anymore - this is sent from the older MX 21 install. The error message is: kmail: error while loading shared libraries: libgpgme++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory libgpgme++.so.5 is a link to libgpgme++.so.5.0.0 in /opt/trinity/lib Bug? Workaround?
