Kaffeine and HDTV

Hello all, Basically, this is possibly somewhat off topic, but as it's still TDE related, maybe someone allready found a solution: I've been using Kaffeine for years to watch DVB-S. Mor recently, I got a USB DVB-C receiver (Sundtek) and it works relatively well (although I got freezes). My problem is that my Cable operator recently warned us that some programs would stop being proposed in their non-HD version. Kaffeine, however, does not work with the HD versions (at least I can't set them up). Eye TV (on a Mac Mini) works (I use that as a recorder under my TV set). Am I missing some settings on Kaffeine (0.8.8)? Thierry

Multimedia audio keys assignment

Hi all, since I have installed pulseaudio I have a problem with the multimedia audio keys. Where are they configured? In particular when I press mute and unmute in KMix both pulse and "HDA Intel PCH" Master volume get messed and unmute does not toggle both controls, so that I have to open KMix and unmute manually. Any ideas? thanks in advance PS: I recall I have played with multimedia keys perhaps 6y. ago. No idea where it was - just vague memory that it was about remote control and my first tv card/stick.

Replacing the default Konsole with Byobu in desktop icons

After more than 10 years of launching Konsole from a desktop icon which uses a Promptread routine for interactive Perl menus which writes a prompt to STDOUT and then reads the user's response from STDIN, this routine is now failing in an infinite write loop. I tried using the other Perl approaches, Readline, and Term::ReadKey with the same result, even autoflushing the output buffer after each prompt write. Nothing works I am now getting this error while pausing in the Perl debugger before the prompt, indicating that Konsole is somehow infected: X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3 Major opcode: 20 Minor opcode: 0 Resource id: 0x7a00187 Apparently this shows up from time to time, but nobody has resolved it. If I use other terminal emulators, the problem goes away. In particular, Byobu replaces the look and feal of Konsole, so I would like to use it. Is there a way to change settings in the icon creation dialog with its terminal option to make byobu the terminal default instead of Konsole? To all: The TDE mailing list is supposed to be a place where we discuss things in a polite and quiet manner. People are free to post their opinion, but please remember to respect others' opinion as well. You may not like what is being discussed in a specific thread, you are free to raise your objections to that but please refrain from denigrating other people's comment or suggestion and respect the time and effort they put in to contribute to this project. I have to say that over the last 12 months or so I have seen an increasingly number of "animated discussions" on this ML and it was not pleasant at all. Especially considering that it was completely unnecessary for them to be "animated" For the records, some of our contributors have already decided to move away because his/her suggestions were continuously denigrated on this ML. How can we expect to have new contributors if we are so negative about whatever thing they bring along?? I repeat: "How can we expect to have new contributors if we are so negative about whatever thing they bring along??" We are a small community, probably we will always be. Let's make sure this community remains a happy community. Please be considerate when you are messaging on this ML. Cheers Michele

Hello team, I would like to try changing the visual style of my TDE. I was looking for some themes in kde looks but i don't know where to puts theme for TDE. Can anybody tell me where to place each part of themes ? Thanks. Nicolas D.

apt-get update Failed to fetch Hash Sum mismatch

Running apt-get update returns the following: ... Fetched 9,539 kB in 1min 17s (123 kB/s) W: Failed to fetch http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/trinity-r14.0.0/debian/dists/j… Hash Sum mismatch W: Failed to fetch http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/trinity-builddeps-r14.0.0/debi… Hash Sum mismatch E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. The files haven't failed to download and they are the same files I receive when downloading them manually. /var/lib/apt/lists and /var/cache/apt rebuild with the same contents and error. The only thing that seems odd is that the builddeps Package date is 23-Nov-2015.

Preliminary stable builds on the move

Hi everyone, who is currently uses preliminary stable builds repository as you have surely noticed, the final R14.0.3 was released. At this time packages in preliminary stable builds repository and official R14.0.3 are both based on an identical source packages. If you used the preliminary stable builds only temporarily, you can now switch to official packages. This is the best time because here are waiting updates to upload into prelinary stable builds. You have been warned ;) If you are using prelinary stable builds deliberately, you can look forward to that soon will launch the first upload of packages for the new target R14.0.4.
