Hi All, I've got an odd problem. I've just installed Debian Jessie with TDE 14.0. For some reason, if I try to reply to a news (Usenet) posting using Knode, I get a pop up asking me to insert a valid email address in the Identity section. If I don't select any post then I get the expected new post window. I've deleted "knoderc" and recreated it, deleted all the groups and re-selected them without any change. I did use "apt install" to get knode since Jessie didn't come with it installed. Thanks for any help. -- Best Regards: Baron

Theme/Style adding

Hello TDE users, I would like to manualy install theme/style form KDE Looks (KDE3 themes) to my Debian/TDER14 notebook. But i didn't manage to find a way to install them. Can you help me ? What folders i have to create or put themes in ? Does KDE3 themes are compatible ? Thanks. Nicolas D.

No pulseaudio sound

Hello, Using Synaptic I installed pulseaudio and pavucontrol. Running the latter in a terminal produces these messages: ** (pavucontrol:4086): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files /usr/bin/pulseaudio: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/pulseaudio: undefined symbol: pa_dbus_connection_unref Running Skype in a terminal also produces the second line above. Skype and the Flash player do not play any sound. And the Control Centre shows no reference to pulseaudio. Any ideas on how to make it available? Robert

mouse over focus changed

I changed my sources to slaveks updates to R14. I am running Wheezy In Kontact, when my cursor moves over the icons in the navigation? area, email, contacts, calendar..etc, in the left pane..the focus has changed from clicking on the icon to focus app to auto changing the app..very irritating . Also in KPDF, similar behavior in the save as dialog, the file name changes as the cursor moves over file tree to select the proper folder...losing the file name in the process. "keep above others" - how to undo this?

somehow I clicked on 'keep above others' on one of my applications and I cannot find a way to undo it. KMail mail check failure

in the last 6-8 months I have been having occasional failure of mail check both interval and manual. The symptom is the bottom right progress bar shows constant movement with no percentage given and no new mail.Workaround is close kmail, reopen it go to Settings - Configure Mail - Accounts - Receiving - Modify - Apply (without editing anything) - OK and it downloads and will do so for 1~30 days and the same thing happens again. Doesn't matter which of 4 POP3 accounts I select to (not) modify - all then download Just open/close does not fix it nor TDE exit/new session or reboot. Machine normally runs 24/7 Has persisted through a complete machine replacement (with the same ~.trinity/share/apps/kmail/mail directory and filters This is with KMail 1.9.10 (enterprise35.0.20100827.1168748) (Using Trinity 3.5.13.2) on Debian 7 reported by synaptic as kmail-trinity 4.3.5.13.2-0debiian7.0.0+0. The same setup had been working fine for some months beforehand Any ideas ? Regards John Campbell

trinity on FreeBSD 10.1

Has anyone tried to build trinity for FreeBSD ? I am currently building a new system based on FreeBSD and I would like to attempt to build trinity. I would like to create ports build if I am successful with the build. I am studying the build from source instructions posted on the website. I believe that this will be a difficult one as it appears that trinity favors Linux. The following appears to be problem areas: Should be installed in /use/local/<whatever>. Scripts contained in the source files have !#/bin/bash. Do the scripts contain bash-ims? FreeBSD used the bourne shell not bash IE #!/bin/sh. FreeBSD uses clang instead of gcc. FreeBSD has dropped HAL in xorg. udev not supported. I am not intending to use linux compatibility ports, as I am looking to run this on the FreeBSD bare metal. Comments?
