Is there any way I can specify the SMTP server for my emails so that mailing lists go via one server and everything else with the other? I can do it manually quite easily, but that requires me to remember. And it is a bit of a nuisance.
I have KMail set to use different identities according to folder. I would like to be able to use different SMTP servers according to folder.

Hi Lisi!
I'm interested in this, too. Or if there is a way to define a SMTP server per identidy :-)

Coincidentally at the same need I also stumbled in recent days. Please fill this as a bug with category enhancement or wishlist!

I think I am 100% uptodate with R14.0.2-3. It works, see my previous 2 posts. I am doing it automatically to reply to this message with no manual intervention on my part. And I have been doing it long before installing TDE on this wheezy box. So long it seems to be in the Just Works(TM) category here.

A very big grin here, I get to help Nik, who has been very helpful to me!
Easy-peasy, Nik. Under configure-kmail, accounts tab, send tab, setup two accounts, one for each server.
Then right click on the folder name in the folder list, click on propertries, there is a place to designate the sender account to use when viewing this folder.
Cheers, Gene Heskett

You'll have to get in line, Nik. I think I'm at the head of the pack, pushing a cane if I have to go very far.

Have you done a straw poll on how old people are Gene? ;-)

No, but I know I'm senior to you my dear lady. Most 81 year olds are stuck in 52 ford pickup days mentally. So there aren't very many like me who are active on multiple mailing lists, some of them pretty technical.

I am doing this Lisi. See under a right click on the folder properties>sender account identity. but first, set in kmail-conf>accounts, 2 identities, in the send tab. For one I am gheskett at wdtv DOT com, the other I am gheskett at shentel DOT net. Reply or posting path is then selected automatically by the folder I am viewing at the instant. A blank entry uses the designated default identity.

Yeah, good point - I missed in the Advanced settings in identity configuration option Special transfer! That is exactly what we needed. So that the bug report is unnecessary.
Thank you Gene!
