now i was merrily editing my kmenu. saved it, opened it -- and it has sprouted a heretofore nonexistent category of "most used applications." it definitely wasn't there an hour ago.
how do i make it go away? if you like it, i'm glad it's there for you. but i don't want it! -- dep

Is it a category (like Games, Graphics, Internet, etc.) or does it appear at the top of the menu? If its the latter I've always had that appear in the T menu by default (as soon as you open an application).

I told you, you may experience "side effects" :D Let us know when you give up or change your nick name to "Don Quixote" :D

I don't remember that, but if you did you were wrong. As noted elsewhere in this thread, a switch to-from "Kickoff Menu Style" imposes favorite/recently used applications, which needs then to be nuked manually.

I'll promise to do that if you promise to hold your breath until then.<g> -- dep

Yep. Me too. After I switched back from "Kick off Style" to "Classical TDE Menu".
I think, I once switched off the "most used apps" list somewhere, but can't remember now where the configuration is to be done. I'm sure it's there.
Cheers, Stefan

* Right click T-Menu button * Hover Panel Menu * Left click Configure Panel * Left click Menus * Under QuickStart Menu Items change ... * ... Maximum number of entries to 0 * Left click OK
How have you been using KMenu all these years without ever having used an application?

First, thanks -- that did it.
Second, it was not there until an hour or so ago. Attached shows what my KMenu looked like pre-edit and before the most-used applications section appeared. But thanks for the question anyway. -- dep
