Hi.
I have an SB Audigy Rx and if i check PCM and Analog Mix in the KMix panel on Kicker then it shows the capture channels instead of playback. I tried to edit the rc-s, but no effect.
There is a picture:
http://oscomp.hu/depot/alsamixer_vs_kmix.png
As it shows, ALSAMixer can control both capture and playback of PCM and the capture one is muted and down there KMix panel shows the capture one instead of playback. Is this a bug or a config error?

Just out of curiosity, I wonder why, when I start Kate from Konsole, I see
these?

I've been experimenting with q4os. I've installed the pi version on my pi 3,
and tody the direct installation version on a desktop (I have not yet tested
the "live CD", that is supposed to let you choose where to install grub, and
maybe also other things.
While the system is fast, debian based and one of the only distributions I
know to bring TDE directly, I found the implementation, well, let's say it
could be better:
- beside being called "q4os-desktop", it depends on tdesu. It took me some
time to find how to get it to use tdesu instead, and I am not sure everything
works.
- But mainly, lots of things are missing. I had to basically install /
reinstall everything with "trinity" to get some (to me) important
configuration stuff. Out of the boy one could neither change the icon set,
nor the window decoration. Other TDE control center elements were missing,
such as the login manager.
I have nothing against having to run synaptic, but I *knew* that it was
possible to setup things. I know at least one man I directed to q4os (because
he needed a system to run on an older notebook). He did not know TDE (nor KDE
3 I guess). q4os may introduce more people to TDE, and they will just get the
feeling that TDE can't be changed the way they like.
Shouldn't Trinity tell q4os to at least *tell* the users that the UI has been
cropped and the way to get back all the functionality?

Making the initial tool view changes to the default session may be the
key. While I already had a default session, that is where I made the
initial changes and I have not had any issues with the memory loss
others are experiencing.

I didn't have this issue because I had Kate configured to save
sessions on exit. I can confirm that manually saving the default
session (when it is the only session) can only be done after selecting
it from the Sessions menu.

Hi Uwe,
I am from Canada (Québec) and I had the same problem: no way to enter my
province (QC) since it is not in the list.
So I selected the first value (do not even remember what it was) and it
passed!
I was then able to finish my donation.
It looks like there is no validation on this field...
Hope this helps.

New live-images for i386 and amd64 are now available:
http://exegnulinux.net/downloadshttps://sourceforge.net/projects/exegnulinux/
The exegnulinux.net download page will redirect to sourceforge.net
where the ISO's (<700MB) are currently hosted.
These ISO's use a Devuan base. The only current mainstream Debian+TDE
live images now appear to be q4os. I wish to continue to support TDE
but at this point, not systemd.
Officially, Devuan is still "beta" but I can't fault it's stability.
Thanks to Timothy and all from the TDE dev team, without you this
could not be done.
Please note, this is not an "official" TDE (nor Devuan) project.
Also, please, don't use this thread for general systemd debate.

Okay, I tried this, but it's not working for me. Here's what I did and what
happened:
1) I renamed ~/.trinity/share/apps/kate to ~/.trinity/share/apps/kate~
2) I started kate (using its icon), then closed it.
kate created a new apps directory, with an empty sessions subdirectory.
3) I restarted kate and it still shows the sidebar with the file names.
4) I tried creating and saving a dummy file to make kate create a session, but
its sessions subdirectory remains empty. :-(

The Tool View changes are session specific. The Tool View settings,
for the session that you open Kate with, will be used for all sessions
that you open using the Session menu. If you don't change all saved
sessions, things can get weird. If you start with a changed session,
all sessions will appear changed. If you start with an unchanged
session, none will appear changed.

You'll get that if your view profile was saved when using tree view.
Viewing everthing else in tree (or whatever) view is what we're after.

What does your settings > configure > Home URL link to? What is at the
top of that folders embedding preference list (properties > spanner)?
Is the home link the only place you get an icon view?
