Nikon D60 does not show up

I had to logout & log back is using XFCE to get my camera recognized. Trinity showed an unknown device & I could not get to the pictures folder on it. Once I logged in using XFCE I was able to get to the pictures.. here is the syslog entry, but I can't tell if this is trinity or XFCE.. CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't work

after installing trinity, I finally rebooted for something. When I restarted Mint, it came up to a trinity desktop window that said to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to login. but CTRL-ALT-DEL did nothing.. I had to restart in safe mode, run dpkg-reconfigure tdm-trinity and change it back to MDM. what do I need to do to be able to login with tdm-trinity??? -- Paul Cartwright Registered Linux User #367800 and new counter #561587

Good distro for 586 computer

Hi everyone! I might not write it at the right place, but here is my question: I bought on EBay a Compaq TC1000 convertible tablet pc at a low price. It has a Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 1ghz CPU and I installed +-360mb of ram on it. The trouble is that this CPU emulates a 586 cpu only... ...and most modern distros are 686 and up... I tried Mageia and even if it is supposed to be 586, it causes kernel panic. I also tried Debian 7.2 and it works at least partly, but as in the Debian way of doing things, it asks me to go online to fetch the driver I'd need to go online... Grrr! Does someone here know of a good distro to use (or that actually boots) on a 586 CPU? Thank you in advance! -Alexandre

Hello Darrell, everybody, I noticed that skrit r14-xdg-update solved renaming kwinrulesrc in ~/.trinity/share/apps instead of ~/.trinity/share/config (I've had it on my computers). In commit 37e840ac I tried to fix it. However, as I subsequently noticed script expecting in the 'apps' folder 'kwinrulesrc' but on my system I have in the 'config' file 'kwinrules'. Please, have anyone kwinrules as a folder in ~/.trinity/share/apps or only exists a file in ~/.trinity/share/config? Thanks, Slavek

konqueror settings disapear

Hi List, I installed kde-trinity and was about to configure konquerors file settings. The goal was to show previews of the picture of an inserted sdcard. Somewhere I tried to switch the file assosiation tothe embedded viewer. From that point on I don't get the settings menu anymore. If I open it via settings- configure konqueror I get a window with no content and a title "empty page". Any advice how to debug that? It's a debian wheezy, from which I try to run konqueror inside a LXDE session, many because TDE isn't starting at all... (getting a logout while/after TDE ist initializing peripherials)

Compiz Fusion

Hello. compiz-fusion-icon package in raring (Ubuntu) is broken and doesn't install. However compiz fusion starts up fine through the Desktop Effects dialog and I get wobbly windows and everything. Everything works except that I can't resize windows, nothing happens when I try. I can't tell how to configure compiz fusion. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Linux Mint won't shutdown after installing Trinity

Hello. I'm a regular user and after installing Trinity with Raring packages in Mint 15, system won't shutdown/restart but hangs at plymouth. Is there a workaround for this because I have to use REISUO to shutdown and REI part doesn't work because for some reason it's disabled. Please help. (I've installed and reinstalled several times and issue occurs only with trinity desktop. I usually install only kdebase-trinity with kmix-trinity and compiz-trinity packages. Thanks.
