Problem when shutting down the computer

Hello, Since I upgraded to the latest version of TDE, when I turn off my computer I often get this message : "Job -c scope / stop running (min sec ) /" Many times I have to wait a long time before the computer turns off. It's annoying when it's late and you want to sleep. Why this message when I shutdown the computer. Thank you , cheers. André

TDE and AD (samba) integration

Hi, I am trying to integrate TDE with Active Directory (SAMBA4). The system is fine, I can login to it on the console or via SSH with the domain user, but in the TDM login manager it doesn't work. Does someone know what I have to do to integrate/configure, or it is not working? thanks

Kdesktop runaway

Hi everyone: I have a computer that i didnt turn off, simply put in suspend mode. But i found that sometimes ( i dont know when or why) kdesktop go away. The symptoms are: - the fan speed up - two KDESKTOP process take 80% of cpu each one, - The icons on desktop are not clikable anymore - the shutdown button on first call open the dialog and i can make click on suspend - the shutdown button on second call do nothing. Pressing ALT+CRL+BAKSPACE i go to login and everyting works again... for one hour, 1 day or one week (randomly) I have opensuse tumbleweed. Best Regards to all Christian Be Free, Be Linux

Kate won't remember syntax highlighting

For some time a quirk in Kate has been haunting me. Kate seems unable to remember my syntax highlighting selections. This happens with two different user accounts on two different computers. I have Kate configured to store meta data for 180 days. Browsing the meta data file finds all affected files are stored and the 'Highlighting=' key is correct. As soon as I launch Kate the highlighting is plain text and the meta data file 'Highlighting=' key is empty. Deleting the meta file and starting from scratch has no effect. I don't use KWrite and can't offer any related observations. Any ideas? Thanks. :)

kvirc FTBFS

I'm getting closer to being able to build all 170 TDE packages in Slackware 15.0. Up to 161 compiled. :) Using autogen.sh, attempting to compile kvirc fails: ### CONFIGURE ERROR: ### Can not find the tqt 3.x library file. ### Make sure that tqt is correctly installed on your system, ### and the tqt version is the one requested by this version of kvirc. ### (Usually a greater version is OK too) I don't know, every other package found tqt3. The autogen.sh seems to complete successfully although there are a boat load of warnings (warnings are not errors?). My configure options: ./configure \ --disable-rpath \ --prefix=$INSTALL_DIR \ --sysconfdir=$SYS_CONF_DIR \ --libdir=$LIBDIR \ --mandir=$MANDIR \ --with-qt-dir=$INSTALL_DIR \ --with-qt-includes=$INSTALL_DIR/include \ --with-qt-libraries=$INSTALL_DIR/lib$LIBDIRSUFFIX \ --enable-closure || exit 1 Thanks for any help. :)

Up to 161 compiled. :) Using cmake, attempting to compile bibletime fails: /usr/bin/ld: backend/libbackend.a(cswordmoduleinfo.cpp.o): undefined reference to symbol '_Z16lucene_wcstoutf8PcPKwm' /usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib64/libclucene-shared.so.1: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line The clucene 2.3.3.4 package is installed. /usr/lib64/libclucene-shared.so.1 is installed and sym linked to libclucene-shared.so.2.3.3.4. Thanks for any help. :)

ktorrent 14.1.4 FTBFS

I am compiling 14.1.4 packages for Slackware 15.0. ktorrent fails to build with the following fatal error: ktorrent-trinity-14.1.4/src/libktorrent/torrent/cachefile.cpp:44:10: fatal error: settings.h: No such file or directory I'm using cmake. Appreciate some help. Thanks.

Hi all I have been using Dropbox along with its official Linux client for many years to synchronize my folders reliably. Recently, however, I started receiving a message (attached) indicating that my desktop environment does not support the Dropbox tray icon. Given this, I would like to ask whether there are any plans for Trinity to support the Dropbox tray icon in the future. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Not a TDE problem, a grub problem

Hello all, I know this is not a TDE problem, but as some here know much more than I do: I am trying to clone a 256GB SSD to a 512Gb one. I did clone the disk, but O can't bott directly (I get a grub prompt). So I boot to my system fom a USB install thumbdrive, and try to reintsall grub. This is (I think) a grub-efi system (it has a win11 partition that I unfortunately have to keep and is GPT formatted). The error message I get is: grub-install error: cannot copy '/usr/share/locale/fr.gmo' to '/boot/grub/locale/fr.mo': Is a directory And all my searches return nothing about this error message. When I have time (this summer), I can do a complete reinstall but maybe someone here understands more about it and can give a clue? Thierry

I'm trying to build TDE bindings packages for Slackware. I'm not a Python wiz kid and don't play one on TV. I understand what is happening in the failure but don't know how to fix.
