Which version are you building — the development version (master branch) or the stable one (currently the r14.1.x branch)? To build the stable branch, you need "tqtinterface" in addition to TQt. For the development branch, tqtinterface has already been integrated into TQt. Therefore, it is essential to use the same branch for all components when building.

I was considering sending this question to that other mailing list but I wasn't sure whether it's for people working on TDE.
I have obtained TQt from the "trinity-testing" Debian trixie PPA which is mentioned there https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/Preliminary_Testing_Builds. The package which I installed is libtqt3-mt-dev. As for Kaffeine I just cloned it's repository and checked out to the master branch.
