xdg-open and libreoffice

hi all! Looks like a little GNOME just hit me with a club: I'm working on a presentation with libreoffice impress (yes, I hnow, why ...). Now that thing has a function "Edit image using external tool". Selecting that, impress calls "xdg-open file://tmp/sdfsfewf.png" - which call in my case kuickshow - which is not surprising, as I use kuickshow for viewing images. But how do I persuade that piece of a genius to call gimp ??? Nik -- Please do not email me anything that you are not comfortable also sharing with the NSA, CIA ...

Volume OSD gone

Hi, yesterday upgraded kernel and rebooted. Today I noticed that using the multimedia keys increases/decreases the volume but OSD does not show up. Where is this control? thanks

Trinity for openSUSE Tumbleweed?

Hello everyone :-), I have naive question -- I can see there is repo for openSUSE 15.1, but is there a chance for Tumbleweed as well? Not that I am that picky, but simply as it turns out those two flavors are not so interchangeable. When I added Trinity repos for 15.1 and then tried for example install trinity-filelight I got error about missing dependency: Problem: nothing provides libIlmImf-2_2.so.23()(64bit) needed by trinity-tdelibs-14.0.7-1.oss151.x86_64 Of course maybe including regular 15.1 repos (I mean openSUSE distro) could solve this particular issue, but I am afraid it is at risk of damaging something in the system. "TDE could not launch"

When I right click on a file in konqueror and select a program with which to open the file, sometimes I get a message "TDE could not launch <program-name>". Strangely, the program is actually run, but konqueror becomes non-responsive (and doesn't even refresh properly on the screen). What causes this problem? (and how do I fix it?) Ok go to konqueror, settings, file associations, inode, directory. Click on embedded and them move Detailed List View to the top. I personally use Tree View same thing but gives you the ability to open directories without having to click into them. Do the above for both directory and system_directory Hit apply, then ok, then close out all konq sessions and give it ago. Remember that, if you save a profile with icons or another kind of it, it will default to how you saved. As always, should you or any of your IM Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This email will self-destuct in five seconds. Good luck Doc.

Trinity Keychain

A friend of mind is a [figurines](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figurine) artist, I told him to make me a keychain with Trinity's logo on it. See attached pics along with other samples of his work, mugs. I wonder if it's a good idea to sell merchandise via an official store on your website, merchandise such as shirts carrying creative mottoes about Trinity's philosophy of retaining the classic humane GUI design concepts as oppose to today's , mugs, keychains, thumbdrives carrying liveCD's or Trinity's handbook printed. Talk with a local company, buy a batch of 50 to 500 for a quantity price, then sell them for 2 or 3 times that price. I would suggest a simple feasibility study before attempting such project though.

kmail: accepting appointment sent from outlook moves mail to trash

Hi all! I just came around this interesting thing in kmail: I got an appointment mail from outlook. Clicking the "[Accept]"- Link in the mail moved the original mail in kmail from inbox to trash. This was a bit of a surprise. Is there anything I can go to prenvent this from happening? Nik -- Please do not email me anything that you are not comfortable also sharing with the NSA, CIA ...

konqueror configuration: images keep appearing

I have (I thought) konqueror configured to show me the detailed listing of directories. It mostly works, but if I hit the "up" arrow to go to a parent directory, it suddenly switches to icons instead of the detailed list (even if I was in the parent before, in detailed list view, and then went to a child directory, and then hit "up"). Quicklaunch and Thunderbird

On two separate systems (one debian 9, one debian 10) the Thunderbird icon appears as a silhouette when I add the application to the Quicklaunch panel application.
