Okay, so I managed to install Devuan Chimaera on my laptop. (Suddenly I
remember why I hate other desktops!) After I got the system set up, I tried
install the basic Trinity packages. (I copied my list from my desktop, which
is Beowulf, but I changed my sources.list over to Chimaera/Bullseye.) I
expect that some packages will change, but I keep a list of what I install,
and in what order, so that it's easier to move over to a new machine. Or so
one hopes ...
So when I tried to install the basic Trinity packages, I kept getting an error
message about unmet dependencies. Gradually I whittled down my list to just
three packages: tde-trinity tdebase-trinity tdm-trinity. But I keep getting
this same error message.
The follow packages have unmet dependencies:
tdemultimedia-trinity : Depends: libarts1-xine-trinity
(>=4:14.0.11-0debian11.0.0.+0) but it is not installable
But nowhere am I (yet) trying to install either of these packages! Maybe they
are included in one of those that I am trying to install, but this message
doesn't make sense.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I believe it was Mike, Michael, somebody
here on the list, who recommended I try out Whonix.
I did give it a brief try a few years ago, but don't remember much. Now,
however, I have at last acquired a half-decent machine, 64-bit (Lenovo
Ideapad 3 15.6" laptop), able to do the job. I hope I chose well.
If I recall, one OS runs inside the other in a virtual machine ...? something
like that. Anyway, if anybody can point me in the right direction, give me a
few tips, then I think I'll be good to go. I've already managed to move
through several different types of Linux distros, so I just need some advice
for Whonix beginners.
Already downloaded Qubes and Whonix iso images, in both Buster and Chimaera
versions.
Please feel free to write to my private email, so we don't clutter the list
with my off-topic pursuits. ;-)

Hi all!
I am an Arch user on an old but fine 64-bit machine from about 2008. And
that's one reason I might prefer TDE over mainstream Plasma/KDE, because
it's probably much lighter on resources and has less overhead and
dependencies.
And since I am also a fan of the tiling WM XMonad, I want to make work
both of them together; let's see if it's going to be XMonad inside TDE,
or XMonad along with Trinity's KDE 3.5 apps. And I'm pretty sure they'll
make a good team!
Currently, I have disabled Plasma and simply run XMonad in EMWH desktop
compliant mode (i.e. no KDE/Plasma) invoking single KDE apps, designed
by GTK or GTK/Qt styles, and using alternative status bars. The virtual
desktops are managed by "pcmanfm --desktop"; compositor is xcompmgr (or
betimes compton, the legacy version of picom).
That's my status quo. Soon, I am about to get rid of all of "modern"
KDE, Plasma, and Qt5/6 stuff – prior to installing TDE's binaries!

Well, I mean there are "trusted: 79-" = 79 dis-trusted keys and no user

So I wonder if there are any changes, or if the provided gpg key (and
Arch's wiki) is outdated, and would like to ask for the latest valid one.
(2) KDE 3.5 virtual desktop management

I am also a fan of different wallpapers for the virtual desktops,
"pcmanfm --desktop" can do that! – So, is KDE 3.5 able to create
individual workspaces?
If yes, I am probably going to run XMonad inside KDE with the
"kdeConfig" module; c.f.

If no, I will first also trying to do the latter AND to load "pcmanfm

would like to stay with pure Trinity stuff – but couldn't this happen by
accident though: interfering dependency conflicts, or double versions of
KDE apps?

Hi everyone:
I am trying to setup 2 monitors. The hardware is:
AMD chipset, ATI video card
screen 3 Vga monitor 20" ( 1600x900 )
screen 2 DVI-I to adapter to Vga monitor 14" ( 1024x768)
I can use display and rotation to the following setup:
screen3 main monitor
screen2 extended desktop
But i have 2 problems and question
1) every boot the screen are cloned and not extended.
How i can do to store permanently the extended configuration?
2) when the screen are cloned i see well into screen 2, but when i switch to
extended the screen 2 the color are degraded like old 16 ega.
How fix it?

Hello all,
I've been testing a Raspi 4. Works well with the Raspbian Desktop (it's
running Raspbian Buster, latest update, with kernel 5.10.63 and TDE 14.0.12
(PSB).
The problem is I can only get 1024x768. I've set the pi to 1920x1080 with
raspi-config, then 1920x1080 does appear in Trinity Control Center, but
choosing it results in a black screen.
All this works with a Pi 3B+ (although I have not updated the distribution).
Anyone running TDE on a Pi 4?
