Hibernate works on "bookworm" but not on "trixie"

On the same laptop (Thinkpad X390) hibernate works (from Trinity powersave) MX-23/bookworm but not on MX-25/Trixie. From the cli pm-hibernate on MX-25 seems to shudown (I must login again). HIbernate from TDE-Powersave locks the screen but bothing more. From the cli pm-hibernate does *not* work (nothing happens, no error message). Hibernate from TDE powersave locks the screen, then powers down. Resuming goes back to the locked screen and then restores the desktop correctly. MX-23 has sysvinit and systemd installed but not activated, MX-25 has either sysvinit (my case ) or systemd. Can this be an explanation? Thierry

IBM/Lenovo Laptop brightness issue

Hi all! Could some owners of IBM and Lenovo laptop plese test these 2 things: - decrease brightness < 50% - try to increase brightness too 100% - decrease brightness to 0% - try to increase brightness too 100% On my test laptops with AMD I cannot increase the brightness to > 50% when I dimmed it to < 50%. When on 0% it can only be increased to ~ 5%. I think it also affects newer intel models > T480, but I'm not sure. IMO the NVRAM layout changed and I try to figure out which model are affected and which are not. I'm running R14.1.5~[DEVELOPMENT] here entirely happily. As a habit I don't run deep-in-the-woods versions, nor the urban tenement release versions, but the in-between, nice-place-in-the-suburbs-with-a-tree-lined-yard almost-ready versions of both Debian and TDE. As a result, a new release is pretty much already on my machine when it is released. And everything just works, with the exception of the desktop crashing at launch occasionally. (Everything works even then, just no wallpaper of the sort that has caused so much consternation -- solution: use a different wallpaper if wallpaper is your thing -- or in my case xplanet with realtime moon image, and no rmb menu on the desktop.) Logging out and back in usually fixes even that, which I think may be a dispute with Enlightenment, which I also keep on the machine. I should note that during the development of 14.1.5 I've gotten the worls in progress and none of them has been troublesome, so the developers are really good about catching things before they get into the wild. A side benefit, both is Debian and in TDE is that using the not-quite-ready version means that version upgrades are non-events, because I do update-upgrade at least once a week. Then again, I don't have multiple virtual desktops, just two monitors that are seen by XRandR as one 1920x2160 desktop. This could be due to my high-tech, modern, NVidia GeForce GT 1030 vid card and incredible AMD FX-8350 chip that I've only had for I think 11 years. But now I see here that I must worry about a wallpaper that apparently resides somewhere on this machine that it appears someone doesn't like. Because it makes me have to think back and try to remember if I have ever, even once since the July 1998 release of KDE-1.0, I've ever used a wallpaper at all, and except for a screenshot for Practical KDE in 1999 I don't think I have. An extremely disappointing wallpaper...

Hi folks. I was reading the release notes for R14.1.5 before I started a system upgrade and noticed there was a new wallpaper added to tdeartwork. At first, I liked it, but then I took a closer look and was extremely disappointed. Do we not have any quality control for TDE artwork? I'm certainly not the only one who noticed how bad this looks. I have no issue with using AI for artwork, but this is embarassing. There was very clearly no attempt to polish or improve this at all. How did this make it in? Surely we can do better than this, no? cursors changed since installing trixie... how to edit/revert?

Since upgrading to trixie a few days ago, I keep being annoyed by a cosmetic change: some cursors have changed in a manner that I find both mystifying and annoying. I can't find any kind of cursor editor thingy in the TDE control panel (perhaps I'm missing something obvious?). How do I go about either manually editing cursors, or, probably better, telling the system: "in this situation use cursor Y instead of the cursor X that you're currently using"? A couple of examples of changes that I find particularly annoying: (i) hovering over a ratings star in clementine now changes the cursor from a northwest-pointing arrow to a northeast-pointing finger; (ii) hovering over a checkbox in basket, the cursor (which I think used to be a northwest-pointing arrow) is now a left-pointing finger. Update problem on bullseye

I've got an older laptop running MX-21 (bullseye based) with TDE (14.1.1 at the time). It's no more used every day and I don't want to upgrade MX or debian (at least for the time), bullseye is OK. I just wanted to update, but running apt update throws an error for TDE: KeyError: 'deps-r14' (the error message is longer but I don't know if it's useful to display here), The lines in tde.list (for psb) are exactly the same as thoses I have for my main install (except that one is running on bookworm). It's not really important as I can perfectly use 14.1.1 on that laptop, just wondering what's the explanation of this error.
