I like it.
My main objection to using a dragon (Konqi or Tonqi) for the TDE icons is that we would be re-using it.
This is something new, sets TDE apart, and for us to move forward, it is good to have a new image.
My only question is: Tristan is usual in English (and most other languages that I can find). There are also Tristam, Tristin, etc., but other spellings are much less common.

Is there some particular reason it is spelt *Tristian* here? It sounds and looks too much like *Christian* to me, and I think that may offend some ... on all sides. I think it would be wiser to stay with a more accepted spelling of the name.

The name Tristan is common enough, and there is no special reason to avoid
