A lot of GNU/linux software is discriminating primarily against conservatives and people on the political right, this unfortunately includes KDE Plasma:

A lot of people are looking to migrate away from KDE Plasma because of this along with them pushing a wayland-only session. Trinity is an amazing option that has nearly all the same features Plasma has with a much lighter codebase and also works with Devuan and Xlibre.
So it might be a weird question but in the year 2026 I have to ask: Does Trinity accept everyone (users/contributers) regardless of background/politics/race/gender, etc so long as they write quality code and focus on making the project as great as it can be?
P.S I don't mind what the politics are of those who work on Trinity, I don't need to know at all.
Top posting by choice, and speaking only for myself and not the project.
Anonymous OP offers a lot of misinformation and FUD.
Everyone here finds TDE preferable to KDE. In my case a *lot* better.
I don't care about your politics (but I do care about crimes commited by politicians). I don't care about your background, race, or gender.
I do hope we don't waste a lot of time on anonymous posters or attempts to "contribute" code anonymously.

+1
Lunduke Journal is a sensationalist, but the things he says are not entirely without merit. Yes you will find some FUD but you will also find some examples of genuine reporting, as with any journalist it's up to the reader/viewer to analyze the claims and decide for themselves. KDE, like it or not, is developed by people with ulterior corporate interests.
I have no reason to believe at this time that Trinity is infected by external politics. If you must know, I moved away from KDE because they were neglecting long-standing complaints for X users. I cannot speak for the Trinity maintainers but they appear to have their priorities straight.

The attitude was obvious already in 2008 (if my memory serves) when they were releasing KDE4 and nothing was working. Amazingly after this the so called "cancel" cultured became normality everywhere ... not only in KDE.
Basically: I do not like you, so I do not talk to you and because I have the authority, I enforce my ideas upon you.
I am still trying to find out where it came from and how it became the normal.
I am also not enabled to speak in the name of TDE project, but as an old member of the community my impression is that the leadership is open and tolerant. Politically everybody has own opinion, but we agreed to not talk about politics. We work together to keep the project running and beneficial to the users. The people are responsible and open for new ideas. If the proposed code is found beneficial and reasonable it is adopted, if not either changes are proposed or the code is rejected.
If you are interested in contributing. Go to the developers mailing/news list and ask for account to be able to login to https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/ You have to sign NDA or whatever was necessary to guarantee your identity and responsibility (this is normal legal insurance on side of the project)
Enjoy

This is no longer required, since almost 10 years ago. But need to follow the contribution code guide lines and sign-off each of your commit.
As long as the code is good, it will be considered. Nothing else matters, just the code quality.

Which is the only sane way to go.

Wow,
Never heard of a political desktop. This almost looks like a message designed to inject the same into the conversion and that would be inappropriate.

Indeed. If there's a better example of a troll, I can't imagine what it would be (and don't want to see it).

It can also be code for, "Hi, I'm a bigot. Can I use your resources to badmouth people?"
